The Pears Building, an advanced immunology facility next to the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, is set to open in Autumn 2020. A collaboration between the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, the Royal Free Charity, UCL, and the Pears Foundation, it will house the UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation (IIT), focusing on pioneering treatments for conditions like leukaemia and diabetes.

To support its launch, 67 hoarding panels spanning 70 meters were designed to educate the public and inspire young minds. Installed by etcltd.co.uk, the graphics explore immunology, the building’s design, its history, and community contributions, including artwork from Fleet Primary School.

With a vibrant palette of pastel pinks, blues, and purples, the playful, immersive designs represent cells, viruses, and antibodies—engaging people on an emotional level while sparking curiosity in the next generation of scientists.
