Elsevier, a leader in research publishing and scientific content analytics, partnered with their long-time client RELX to create a landmark report: The Power of Research to Advance the SDGs. Drawing on our extensive experience, we aimed to produce a report that was not only visually compelling but also accessible to a broad audience by transforming complex data into clear, navigable visuals.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have a distinct visual identity, characterized by vibrant colors and simple iconography for each goal. We leveraged this branding throughout the report to create a cohesive design that seamlessly blended Elsevier and RELX elements. Collaborating closely with Elsevier’s marketing team, we ensured the final product aligned with their brand while establishing a master template for future publications combining content from both organizations.

A highlight of the report was the SDG infographics, a collaborative effort between RELX and Elsevier. Designed to showcase key metrics on research output, collaboration, and impact, these visuals demonstrated the critical role of research in advancing the SDGs. Using the signature SDG colors, we created infographic pages that were both distinctive and functional, making data and insights easy to identify and digest. This close partnership ensured the report was impactful, informative, and visually aligned with its purpose.
